Reviews Head First Php & MySql
Rating: (8.7/10) This book almost covers all the php raw concepts. This is an excellent book for the beginners and helped me a lot to build up some core concepts. However, this book has some flaws on few chapters. Some the sections involving Mismatch(with more database involvement) and Captcha seems backdated. Also, they need to fix the appendix section. Head First Word Press Rating: (5/10) Pretty much an average book. This book do not goes through coding depth at all. It was more focused on point and click work, few plug-in works and barely touched the idea of seo. Head First Java Rating: (9.6/10) This is an excellent book for the new learners who are new with OOP concepts. It goes depth in try, catch , exception, collections what not! This is one of the best book in the head first series. Anyone who is interesting in coding should at least skim through this book. However, I am disappointed with JSP, EJB, socket connection, skeleton and stub area. Since, it looked the like the author had to end the book due to 650 pages? Head First Excel Rating:(7.5/10) This book is useful for absolutely novice or beginners excel users. It goes through the topics which were quite interesting which includes the graphing, making sheets, good analysis, what-if analysis and many more. However, I expected more, any intermediate excel user won't be satisfied with the amount of info it has in the book. Head First Design Pattern Rating:(9.8/10) Absolutely Useful! Excellent book for intermediates, it was very insightful. It goes through plenty of patterns with fun examples. However, I was not satisfied with the mvc pattern or the contents that they put related to it. Its a must have book if you are working in a professional environment. Head First Statistic Rating: (9.9/10) Great book, goes through the probability, standard deviation, expectation, variability. Explanation for the distributions was outstanding. However, this book might get little complex at the end. Overall, It provides proper amount of exercises to keep the readers engaged. Head First Html and Css Rating: (10/10) This book is for absolute beginners. Covers all the topics that is needed for a newbie. All the concepts were described cleanly with great humor. This is definitely a must buy! Head First Sql Rating: (8/10) This book is great for beginners. It is a complete book but my only problem with this book was it spent way too much time on the easier concepts. Head First jQuery Rating: (8.5/10) Great book for the newbies with intermediate javascript knowledge. For some reason, this book didn't cover the concept of plugin properly but overall it is still a great buy. Head First Ajax Rating: (8/10) This book goes through the concepts pretty well! You need to have pure understanding on javascript, html, css and some php/mysql to understand the book properly. Head First Javascript Rating: (9/10) Another great book from the Head First Series. It goes through all the core concepts very well but created confusion on the sections with the ship with mvc concepts.

Make composer.json file. We need to create a composer.json file before the src folder. The folder hierarchy is shown below! Folder Hierarchy
Before we dive in the composer.json. You need to know what composer is! Install composer before going through the tutorial! JSON [Code]: Composer.json
Now go to that folder open your terminal in the folder location where there is composer.json file. Now type in the terminal! This will create a "vendor" folder right beside the src folder! Command Window | Linux Terminal
Now, we will move to the Fruits Folder and make a file Apple.php Php [Code]: Apple.php
Then to the Vegetables Folder and make a Tomato.php file Php [Code]: Tomato.php
Finally back to the src Folder where we will create Inventory.php file. All the explanations are included here Php [Code]: Inventory.php
If you go ahead and deploy the Inventory.php file on the server | or localhost Final Result
We will use namespace and require! We won't be using the keyword "use" We are going to create 3 folders and 3 files. The order of the files and the folder is shown below. In this method we won't be using "use" because it doesn't work in the non-composer way. If you want to use "use" you need to look up to my "Namespace" in PHP (using composer). Folder Hierarchy
Lets start with the Inventory.php file under the src(Main Folder) [Code] : Inventory.php
Lets move in to the Vegetables Folder [Code]: Tomato.php
Finally to the Fruits Folder [Code]: Apple.php
Finally if you deploy the file Inventory.php, you will see the output below!!
Apple ::::::::::::::::::::::: Tomato :::::::::::::::::::: Using __call($methodName, $arguments) and Access the inaccessible methods! Php[Code]: Using __call methods
jQuery: Draggable [Code]
Using the concept of objectBoundingBox and preserveAspectRatioSVG: Circle Shape and the image [Code]
Wifi Receiver: Satisfactory or not? For Wifi receiver, I specially look at my usb first and check whether it support USB 2.0 or USB 3.0. USB 3.0 supports better wireless data rates. Luckily I have the usb 3.0 support.
So I bought this wifi receiver thinking I will get booming speed. After I plugged the wifi receiver to my desktop it received the receiver instantly but ...... problem. I was getting wifi speed lot lower than my expectation. Out-of-nowhere after a day or two I decided to check my ping. Guess what? there was a huge packet loss (around 50%). Therefore, I ended up buying a new wifi receiver of different brand and now I am getting my wifi speed as expected. It is definitely 2 out of 5 for me! I do not recommend it! Choose what kind and the reasons behind it!! Wifi Router
IEEE standard So the first spec we are going through is the IEEE standard, which is IEEE 802.11 b or g or n b is the oldest technology, g is then the updated one, n is the latest. Priority should be to get a wifi router which supports b, g, n. Types of Antenna This is the part I think everyone makes a huge mistake. There are different kind of antenna omni directional antenna , fixed antenna, one-directional antenna etc. Having three antenna on a wifi router doesn't mean it is better than the one with two. Omni directional have certain advantages over the fixed ones which is the wifi spreads in all direction where as fixed antenna is limited to one direction. Even though fixed antennas can be used in offices where the wifi setup needs to spread in one direction. Omni-directional antenna is definitely helpful in home setup. Power of Antenna Decibel or dbi which is the unit of antenna gain is the keyword here. For home usage, 5dbi or 9dbi is good enough for home space. Both 5dbi or 9dbi easily covers 1800 sq.ft. 9dbi is obviously better since it can spread the wifi with higher power Frequency Usually the frequency at which the wifi spreads is in 2.4Mhz or 5Mhz. 5Mhz is generally weaker when we need to cover a lot of distance. With 2.4Mhz, there are lot of interference since microwave and many related electrical equipments works at around 2.4Mhz. The wifi router with IEEE 802.11n may have dual antenna supporting both 2.4Mhz and 5Mhz. In brief we can use both 2.4Mhz or 5Mhz wifi router at home. |
